Welcome to Skellingthorpe Camera Club

At our meeting in June, committee member, Tony Defriez, gave an entertaining and informative presentation on drone photography.

Drawing on his extensive experience, Tony explained the regulatory restrictions on drone flying and then gave an overview of how to launch, control and land one.

Tony brought four different sized drones to the meeting and demonstrated all but the very largest. Unfortunately, windy conditions meant that the flying demonstration had to be performed indoors.

Tony completed his presentation with a selection of his own aerial photographs.

The monthly competition was on the theme of “Macro photography” and attracted a wide range of excellent images. Congratulations go to new club Chairman, Nick McDonald for his winning image of a dandelion seed head.

The winning and runner-up images can be viewed here.

The next meeting will be held on 9th July when we shall welcome local photographer, Andrew Scott, who will deliver an illustrated presentation.
